Cine de Chef Installs First Meyer Sound Cinema Systems in Nepal

Movie fans can now hear Nepal’s first Meyer Sound cinema installations in the Cine de Chef theatre’s two luxury screening rooms. According to theatre management, the systems create such realism and excitement that they have given the cinema a clear competitive edge.

“The quality heard through our Meyer Sound systems is by far the best in Nepal, and is easily distinguishable from any other system in the region,” says Gaurav Goel, managing director of Cine de Chef. “The clarity and precision of the sound is the most amazing I have ever experienced. I’m also very impressed by the low end—most Bollywood movies have high-impact action sequences with multiple bass effects, and certainly our customers have never experienced them like this before.”

The systems are installed in the 169-seat CineTheater and the 70-seat CineDine, each featuring an Acheron® 100 and two Acheron 80 screen channel loudspeakers, six X-800C high-power cinema subwoofers, and 14 HMS-10 surround loudspeakers. A Galileo® loudspeaker management system with two Galileo 616 processors provides drive and optimization for each room. The systems were provided by Bangalore-based Reynold’s, Meyer Sound’s Indian distributor.

“When I first auditioned a Meyer Sound system at Pacific Theatres in Winnetka, Calif. I was immediately convinced by its power and transparency,” adds Goel. “I can confidently say that Meyer Sound is the feature that truly stands out in our theatre.”

Cine de Chef is also equipped with Christie CP2220 digital projection and advanced 3D systems, as well as reclining leather seats, back massagers, and food service in CineDine. Cine de Chef is located in Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu.
