Clear-Com to Present Scalable and Flexible Intercom Solutions at ISE 2014

AMSTERDAM, JANUARY 30, 2014 – Clear-Com® is showcasing several new intercom systems and product enhancements that make its solution capable of meeting communication requirements for a wide range of applications and environments. Ideal for theatres, convention centres, multi-campus venues and stadiums, the new Eclipse HX-Delta Digital Matrix System, extended HelixNet™ Partyline Intercom System and enhanced Tempest®2400 Wireless Intercom System will be on display at ISE 2014 (Stand 11.D54).

“At Clear-Com, we strive to provide our customers with intercom systems that work for most applications and in different environments, from a basic two-wire beltpack install to a multi-building campus,” says Simon Browne, Director of Product Management, Clear-Com. “The solutions we are presenting at ISE this year are designed to scale into larger systems and extend access to local or geographically-dispersed user groups without compromising audio clarity, reliability and system performance.”

Clear-Com’s all new Eclipse HX-Delta digital matrix system offers the perfect balance of speed, capacity, capabilities and performance in a compact 3RU frame. It offers up to 256 internal ports, features two CPU cards and houses four interface cards and three interface modules. The matrix has the potential to connect users over dedicated CAT5, IP infrastructures (LAN, WAN and internet), and fibre networks. It can also seamlessly integrate with digital wireless beltpacks and IP-based virtual panels. Additionally, interface modules allow external sources including four-wire audio, partylines, telephone lines and MADI, to be routed to user keypanels or beltpacks. Powered by the latest EHX v7.5 software, up to 64 Eclipse HX matrices can be connected to form a single networked installation.

The latest version of HelixNet Partyline provides a multi-system linking capability over Ethernet and fibre to permit a more sophisticated and cost-effective digital partyline intercom network for large stadiums or multi-campus venues. This function enables the distribution of many digital partyline channels, program audio feeds and auxiliary interfaced audio over a single XLR cable to a digital beltpack user. This new capability for HelixNet means that each of the possible dozens of HelixNet beltpack users can access any two of the available network partyline channels on the beltpack. Enabling the system linking capability are two modules: the HLI-ET2 Ethernet Module, for Main Station-to-Main Station networking over a LAN and the HLI-FBS Fibre Module, for daisy-chaining fibre interfaces to link Main Stations over long distances.

The new Tempest Digital Wireless Intercoms’ CCT-RT-EX Remote Line Extender is used to increase the maximum distance between a Tempest BaseStation and the Remote Antenna Transceiver. This increase can be as much as 914 meters with a single Line Extender, or 609 meters per Line Extender if using two or the maximum of three, for total coverage of up to 2,286 meters. Also featured is Tempest2400’s Seamless Roaming feature, which allows Tempest2400 BeltStation users to move freely between as many as 16 different BaseStations (coverage areas or zones) without interference or dropouts. These further extend Tempest’s wireless communications capabilities for live productions, multi-level facilities and sports arenas staged in RF-heavy environments.
