Manley President EveAnna Manley Hosted the On-Line Tour of the Company’s Chino, Calif. Facility for 36 CRAS Students
Gilbert, Ariz., Nov. 17, 2020 – While travel and in-person events remain at a minimum, and many times have become non-existent, in today’s world, that hasn’t stopped The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS; www.cras.edu), the premier institution for audio engineering education, from setting up and executing opportunities for its students to gain access to the industry’s leading manufacturers.
As a result, 36 CRAS students recently had the opportunity to virtually tour Manley Laboratories, Inc.’s Chino, Calif. headquarters with none other than company president EveAnna Manley.
”I’ve been honored to teach and mentor CRAS students over the years and even more privileged to have gotten the opportunity to work with CRAS graduates,” said Manley. “This is the real proof and result of excellence in education in the recording arts: that CRAS graduates are supremely positioned to gain employment across a wide range of career opportunities in the audio creation world. I welcome future CRAS graduates to reach out to me if they want to roll up their sleeves and make audio electronics production their future.”
John Connell, CRAS Student/AES Chair, explained that he had originally met EveAnna Manley via an online meeting at KMD Productions with George Massenburg, Al Schmidt, and many others. “EveAnna stood out to me as being charismatic, full of insight, and eager to speak about the opportunities at Manley Labs,” Connell said. “After the meeting, I thanked her for sharing her experiences, to which she was very encouraging.”
As the CRAS section of AES meets every week to share opportunities and events with the engineering community, Connell asked EveAnna on behalf of the Conservatory to join them for an evening. “I am so thrilled she did,” he continued. “It is an honor that she would provide an interview and tour of her facility for us. I find inspiration in her story, and hope to follow in the same footsteps of audio engineering.”

Her cameraman James Salter, who is also a recording engineer, producer, and admin assistant at Manley Labs, did an amazing job working the camera and even had a chance to talk to us a little bit about microphones. We can’t thank Manley Labs enough for providing this unique experience to our students and I highly recommend that other educational institutions reach out to EveAnna and set up a tour, as well.”
CRAS structured programs and highly qualified teaching staff provide a professional and supportive atmosphere, which is complemented by its small class sizes allowing for individual instruction and assistance for students in engineering audio recordings. CRAS has been providing quality vocational training in audio recording for more than three decades. The curriculum and equipment are constantly being updated to keep pace with the rapid advancements in the music and sound recording industries. CRAS’ course offerings and subject matter have always centered around the skills and knowledge necessary for students’ success in the audio recording industries.
The 11-month program is designed to allow every student access to learn and train in all of the Conservatory’s studios which are comprised with state-of-the-art audio recording and mixing gear, the same equipment used in today’s finest studios and remote broadcast facilities, including Pro Tools 12, API Legacy consoles, SSL AWS consoles, Studer Vista consoles, and much more. All students must complete a 280-hour industry internship to graduate from the Master Recording Program II that may ultimately lead to industry employment.
