Unique time-series charts enable more effective Dante network monitoring, ensuring optimal reliability
Audinate Group Limited (ASX:AD8), developer of the professional industry-leading Dante® AV-over-IP solution, is pleased to announce the availability of new telemetry monitoring and retention features in its cloud-based SaaS tool, Dante Director.
Managing and maintaining an AV network can require a detailed diagnosis of network performance. Having insights into the performance of every device on the network can help elevate the satisfaction of end users by ensuring systems are available for use when required. To that end, Dante Director now enables the collection and retention of device latency for up to 30 days, viewable in a convenient time-series chart that displays latency spikes as they occurred.
“Gaining insight into the minute-by-minute performance of a Dante AV-over-IP network gives administrators the confidence in long-term network reliability. Whether exploring details about Dante devices from the last few minutes or even 3-4 weeks ago, Dante Director includes tools to explore device latency down to the channel level,” says Laurence Crew, Senior Product Manager at Audinate.
Latency can be compared across multiple channels using mini-charts, enabling administrators to quickly scan for patterns between various channels. With a better understanding of latency on a device channel level, administrators can explore the network and identify if latency is being introduced between devices. This enables the efficient replacement of any defective cabling or switches or even the potential for rewiring to establish more efficient signal connections.
“The time-based display and retention of latency data are unique to Dante Director,” says Crew. “We expect administrators for all types of Dante networks to utilize telemetry data in Dante Director for everyday network management tasks.”
Dante Director is a cloud-based SaaS tool designed to manage devices on Dante networks. Dante Director allows administrators to organize devices on the network, secure them behind user authentication, and enables remote network management from anywhere with an internet connection.
