DTS Product Launch Held at New High-Tech Headquarters

DTS, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTSI), a digital technology company dedicated to delivering the ultimate entertainment experience, hosted a special launch event at their new, state-of-the-art headquarters in Calabasas, California.

Key members of the professional Blu-ray production and content communities were on-hand as DTS showcased Neural UpMix, an exciting new Pro Tools plug-in designed to upmix content in up to 5.1 and 7.1 channels. In addition, DTS also unveiled DTS–HD Master Audio Suite v 2.5 (MAS 2.5), the latest version of the company’s best-in-class audio encoding suite. Both products will be showcased at NAB 2010 (Booth SU8506).

Neural UpMix by DTS marks a first in 7.1 surround expansion for the Pro Tools community. Combining precision and creative flexibility, this plug-in can output 5.1 or 7.1 multi-channel audio tracks from stereo or 5.1 source material while preserving the spectral and timbral balance of the original mix. Mixing engineers will be able to upmix audio tracks on a scene-by-scene basis to create an immersive audio experience that can greatly enhance both standard 2D as well as 3D Blu-ray soundtracks.

DTS–HD Master Audio Suite v 2.5 makes one of the fastest Blu-ray disc audio encoders on the market even faster with the introduction of Folder-Based Batch Encoding for Blu-ray, DVD, and online digital delivery. This new functionality automates the encoding process, enabling hundreds of audio encodes to be processed with just a few mouse clicks.

“The announcement of these new DTS software products are solid examples of the company’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that support the demands of content production and delivery industries, says Ronny Katz, Director of Professional Audio, DTS, Inc. “Through unique product introductions, DTS will continue to meet the evolving digital delivery, streaming and downloading market needs.

Following a brief introduction of the two new products, DTS executives invited attendees to spend time in the company’s new facility and experience first-hand the Neural UpMix Plug-in for Pro Tools and DTS–HD Master Audio Suite in two of the facility’s new state of the art listening rooms, both of which are equipped with 7.1 sound systems.

Also housed in the sleek new three-story DTS facility that opened last November is an impressive, cutting edge Research and Development room. A testament to the company’s commitment to sound technology of the highest quality, this new R&D room can be easily adapted and expanded as needed, to keep up with the company’s ever-evolving new technology.

“We are proud of our new headquarters and we were happy to welcome our industry friends and partners during this exclusive event, adds Katz.

The Neural UpMix Plug-in for Pro Tools, listed at $449, and DTS-HD Master Audio Suite v2.5, at $1495, are scheduled to ship in April with more detailed information available on www.dts.com
