EAW® Loudspeakers Chosen for Diesel Hall Venues in Tirana, Albania

Prosound Shpk, EAW®’s Albanian distributor, celebrates the life of Moray McMillin, who was instrumental in helping make this installation a reality

Loudspeakers from EAW®, a world leader in audio system technology for over 30 years, have been chosen for three venues that together make up the new 13,000-square-foot Diesel Hall complex in Tirana, Albania. Prosound Shpk, EAW’s Albanian distributor, was approached to recommend sound system solutions for the facility’s Botanik restaurant, Champagne Bar and Lounge Bar. As a result of the EAW products’ ability to deliver high-quality audio at a reasonable price point, Diesel Hall owner Ermal Gashi decided to go with Prosound’s recommendations, which included EAW loudspeakers and subwoofers from their SMS and VR series, among others. The system was designed by Jeff Pratt.

The system in the Botanik restaurant includes six EAW SMS5 Surface Mount Loudspeakers in a white finish and two EAW VRS18 High Output Subwoofers; the Champagne Bar features 12 EAW SMS3 Surface Mount Loudspeakers, all in white finish; and the Lounge Bar’s system includes 12 EAW VR62 Compact Full Range Loudspeakers and two VRS18’s. The centerpiece of the complex’s audio is the EAW DX1208 DSP Matrix Mixer, which allows control of input selection and volume in all three zones of the facility. Three EAW UR-1 and three EAW UR-2 real-time universal remotes accompany the DX1208, providing convenient access to the DX1208’s features and functions, including volume level, input muting, priority recall and more.

Kliton Gjika, Owner of Prosound, stated, “When Ermal Gashi contacted us for help on their new systems, I knew immediately the types of loudspeakers and subs that should be involved. I am always eager to recommend EAW units, and Mr. Gashi agreed with us when he experienced the sound and realized what a great value EAW loudspeakers provide. He is especially fond of the DX1208, which allows him to control the sound in all three venues. And of course the sound is just mind-blowing. From the more relaxed vibe of the restaurant and the Champagne Bar, to the thumping beats of the Lounge Bar, EAW loudspeakers have provided Diesel Hall with exactly what it needs.”

Gjika and the rest of the EAW community in Albania have also joined the industry in mourning the loss of EAW’s Moray McMillin, and the completion of the audio system at the Diesel Hall complex gave Gjika the opportunity to reflect on McMillin’s contributions to this project: “When we were getting the DX1208 set up, we had a few questions, and we called Moray McMillin, EAW Application Support Group Representative for the EMEA region. He helped us out right away, and he was a real class act, as he always was. We were devastated to hear of his untimely passing a few weeks ago. We dedicate this installation to him and his memory, and we will continue to remember him fondly.”
