HOSA TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCES ELITE SERIES GUITAR CABLE

Buena Park, CA – August 2008… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician, is proud to introduce the new Elite Series guitar cable. Available with both straight and right-angle plugs, the new Elite Series takes advantage of the latest technological advances and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to deliver performance attributes comparable to those of far more costly boutique cables—but at a price that is well within reach of a typical musician’s budget.

All Elite Series guitar cables utilize a stranded 20 AWG “Hi-Purity Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) conductor for reduced resistance and improved signal flow. Stranding the copper helps reduce capacitance and increase bandwidth. This enables the guitar’s sound to retain more tonal character during transmission through the cable—a feature commonly absent from lesser quality cables.

The cable’s Foamed Polyethylene (FPE) dielectric also contributes to the cable’s high performance. Foaming polyethylene fills the material with air, improving its dielectric properties without adding weight. The result is an astonishingly low 20.8 pF/ft (picofarads per foot) capacitance—a measurement typically associated with considerably more expensive “ultra-low capacitance cables. Put in perspective, the lower the capacitance, the higher the frequencies the cable can transmit, which helps the cable retain all the high-end bite of the guitar’s original sound.

An instrument cable is, ultimately, only as good as its shielding, and here too, the Elite Series cables excel. All Elite Series cables incorporate a high-density OFC braid and conductive PVC that combine for noise-free signal transmission. This “redundant shielding is greater than that offered by many competing cables costing considerably more and provides maximum EFI, RFI, and electrostatic rejection.

Yet another highlight of the Elite Series cable is its true coaxial cable geometry for superior physical performance. In contrast to microphone cable that has been terminated for guitar, which can be stiff and unwieldy, the Elite Series cable lies neatly on the floor and wraps evenly for clean, organized cable positioning.

A cable’s plugs are critically important and, here too, the Elite Series guitar cable cuts no corners. Top-quality, nickel-plated plugs from G&H Industries are used for improved contact with the nickel-plated jacks on most electronic musical equipment. Since electrons travel more freely between like metals, these plugs are the ideal choice for today’s electric guitarist. These features combine with Hosa’s limited lifetime warranty to make the new Elite Series guitar cable an exceptional product with the best product coverage in the industry.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s National Marketing Manager, commented on the new Elite Series guitar cable. “We spared no expense in the development of this cable, said Pusey, “but you’d never know it from the price. With a rich feature set and a highly competitive price, we are extremely proud of this new product line. I’m confident guitarists everywhere will find much to like.

The new Elite Series cables range in price from an MSRP of $37 (for a 5-foot length) through $62 (for a 25-foot length). The Elite Series is available now.
