HOUSE OF BLUES CONTINUES SOLID STATE LOGIC TRADITION WITH MATRIX CONSOLE AND X-RACK

Matrix Drives Newly Upgraded Studio C

BERRY HILL, TN – House of Blues, Nashville, a premiere, four studio recording facility formerly known as East Iris Studios, recently installed a Solid State Logic Matrix console to act as the centerpiece of the newly renovated Studio C. House of Blues has worked with everyone from Miley Cyrus, Indigo Girls and Kid Rock to Faith Hill, Amy Grant and Dolly Parton. The studio complex is split between two buildings with the main Studio A and Studio B reserved for larger tracking and mixing projects and with Studio C designed to attract smaller budget projects that will benefit from Matrix.

Matrix was chosen for Studio C because of its routing capabilities, control of the resident Pro Tools® system, deft interfacing with existing high-end outboard gear and X-Rack, and for the sterling sound quality. As the focus

of Studio C is attracting clients

who have worked at home and want to overdub and mix in a professional studio, Matrix gives House of Blues the capability to serve many different clients with many different needs.

“We had an engineer in the other day who tracked his project in a large studio, and tried to mix entirely in the box in his private studio, says Mike Paragone, studio manager for House of Blues, Nashville. “When we started, we brought up just two channels through Matrix and he was blown away by the sound. He said he could hear much more detail. Matrix makes a big difference because it is an SSL.

“It was obvious that Matrix offered both a well known brand and product with excellent options on it including the surround sound feature, says studio owner, Gary Belz. “All our clients are familiar with the SSL rooms that we have in Studio A and B. These rooms have been an integral part of our success in Nashville and this tradition has been expanded with Matrix. House of Blues now has plans to further expand from the existing five rooms (Studio D is under construction) to seven rooms in two buildings.
