Ive got a game to play in a couple of hours

WEST HORSLEY, United Kingdom – While Ryder Hesjedal will be Canadas lone rider in mens road cycling at the London 2012 Olympic Games, the womens team will be led by one of the countrys greatest Olympians. Mark Barron Jersey .  Six-time medallist Clara Hughes has returned to cycling after a successful long-track speedskating career and shes looking to lead her team to success in Sundays 120-kilometre road race. Denise Ramsdem of Yellowknife and Joelle Numainville of Laval, Que., join Hughes in the road events. Theyre keeping quiet about their strategy for Sunday, only saying theyll focus on whoevers got the strongest legs on the day. “The concept of a team is very strong in womens cycling,” Hughes said Wednesday at a news conference. “Our goal is to get the best result and Im very excited to have Joelle and Denise as teammates.” Jacques Landry, the teams director of high performance, said he was confident Hughes will know how to pull the right strings Sunday. “She is our captain, she will have carte blanche during the race,” Landry said. “Her wide experience will enable her to properly react to different situations, along with suggestions from (the teams coach). “The girls were each chosen for their complementary skills and their ability to work together,” Landry added. “The strategies will evolve throughout the race. Everything will be put in practice for a team victory. If we get a podium, its because all three are successful. It will be all for one.” But the 39-year-old Hughes, a native of Winnipeg who lives in Glen Sutton, Que., warns her opponents that she shouldnt be overlooked. “I get great satisfaction from helping my teammates, but I know how to win,” she said. “Anyone who underestimates this ability I have, well, I wish her luck. “I consider myself fortunate to have all the support I have in all aspects of my career. I can rely on the best equipment in the world and I believe I have the fastest bike. Its up to me now to prove that I can be the fastest, both strategically and physically.” Hughes, who will also compete in the womens time trial, has been on the Olympic cycling podium before. She won two bronze medals at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games where Canada captured five cycling medals. “The team this year may have more potential than that of 1996,” she said of a Canadian cycling team that also has medal hopes on the track and in mountain biking. Victorias Hesjedal, who won the Giro dItalia earlier this year, will ride in Saturdays mens road race and the time trial later in London 2012. Matthew Stafford Jersey . – Often a villain in past years when visiting Arco Arena with the Los Angeles Lakers, aging Shaquille ONeal played that role once again Friday night for the Phoenix Suns. Kevin Kolb Jersey . Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant (L) congratulates guard Derek Fisher in the fourth quarter during Game 3 of the 2010 NBA Finals basketball series against the Boston Celtics in Boston, Massachusetts June 8, 2010. Jason Witten Jersey . It doesnt get much bigger than that on the NBA landscape and it will take place on Saturday in South Florida when the Miami Heat host the Boston Celtics in the deciding game of the Eastern Conference finals.Pierre Garcon Jersey . A Pro Bowl selection the past two seasons, Andrews left Mondays game against the Dallas Cowboys in the second half. The 6-foot-4, 340-pounder has not practiced at all this week and is listed as doubtful for Sundays game. Jordy Nelson Jersey . — Even with Eric Decker down, Peyton Manning didnt miss a beat.NEW YORK — Columbus Blue Jackets star Rick Nash got a taste of the New York media crush during a rare visit to Madison Square Garden. Whether its a sign of things to come remains to be seen, but that question will likely be answered within the next week. Nash is the biggest name in the NHL rumour mill heading toward the Feb. 27 trade deadline. The rugged forward has some say in whether he will leave Columbus — the only NHL team for which he has played — and he is definitely on the New York Rangers radar. The 27-year-old Nash held a brief news conference Sunday night about two hours before the Blue Jackets faced the Rangers, but didnt shed much light on whether he would prefer to leave Columbus, or if New York would be a good landing spot if he is sent packing. “Im fine,” Nash said when asked if he was comfortable with the sudden media attention. “I played the Olympics a couple of times for Canada, so this is really nothing compared to that. Its fun. In Columbus, weve got great media coverage, everyone is nice and great with the Blue Jackets. Its definitely a good positive in Columbus.” Nash is signed through the 2014-15 season, and carries an annual salary cap hit of US$7.8 million. The Eastern Conference-leading Rangers would have to create cap space to fit Nash in, and would have to do it at the expense of affecting team chemistry that has put the club within shouting distance of the top record in the NHL. “Its going to take care of itself. Im a Blue Jacket right now, and were playing great hockey,” the Columbus captain said. “Its funn to be around. Tony Romo Jersey. Its been a tough year for us, but, right now, when youre winning games, as happens to every team, it becomes a different game.” Through 58 games this season before Sunday, Nash has 18 goals and 39 points. He has 277 goals and 527 points in 650 career games over nine NHL seasons. Nash has scored at least 30 goals six times, and reached 40 twice, including a career high of 41 in the 2003-04 season. The Blue Jackets won four of seven heading into Sundays game, but they own the NHLs worst record and arent within 10 points of any other team as they languish at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. Columbus is heading into a major rebuild, and the million dollar question is whether Nash — the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 draft — will be a part of the teams future or be dealt to restock the club. “I just worry about today,” Nash said. “Right now Im a Blue Jacket, and thats what matters. Ive played my whole career here, and thats how Im dealing with the game Ive got to play in two hours. Thats all Im worried about.” Nash declined to comment on whether he has put the Rangers on a list of teams he would accept a trade. He also wouldnt say if he can see himself playing in New York or if he wants some resolution to his status with the Blue Jackets by next weeks deadline as opposed to having speculation stretch into the summer. “I dont really follow all those rumours,” Nash said. “I worry about right now, and right now Ive got a game to play in a couple of hours. Thats all Im worried about.” ‘ ‘ ‘
