ROME, ITALY: WSDG-Walters-Storyk Design Group co-founder, architect/acoustician John Storyk recently addressed a gathering of 100+ students and members of Italy’s pro audio industry at Rome’s Universita’ Degli Studi De Roma Tor Vergata.  Entitled ‘Acoustics And Architecture of Recording Studios, From Electric Lady To Today,’ Storyk’s 90-minute presentation provided an insightful retrospective on the art, science, acoustic and aesthetic evolution of the recording studio.

Beginning with his first (1969) design commission, the still active Electric Lady Studiosin NY’s Greenwich Village, the presentation included examples of how changing technology and advances in acoustic realization have raised the standards and capabilities of today’s studio environment.  Contemporary examples included Jungle City Studios in New York, Paul Epworth’s The Church Studios  in London and the recently completed Berklee College of Music 160 Mass. Ave. complex in Boston.

The lecture was coordinated by, Giulio Curà, WSDG representative in Italy.
