CHICAGO, Illinois – Equipped with HARMAN’s Soundcraft Si Expression, Si Performer and Vi3000 mixing consoles, LSAV is one of the premier full-service live event solutions companies for corporate events in the United States. The company’s corporate theater services include meetings, conferences, exhibits and trade shows. In addition, dedicated onsite technicians are always available to provide customized support.

LSAV’s staff work with freelance engineers on a regular basis. The Soundcraft consoles possess flexible features and clearly defined board layouts that are easy to operate for both in-house and contract engineers. This drastically cuts down on excess gear and in turn saves time, which is a rare commodity at corporate events.

“Our clients want the job done, but we don’t always deal with guest operators who have an extensive audio background. We like Soundcraft a lot for this reason, as there is a good amount of built-in flexibility,” said Chris Huether, Audio Engineer and Project Manager at LSAV. “There is true Graphic EQ on every output, there is no need to patch and everything is easy to use. Since we do not have the space on show sight for outboard racks, we look for that plug-and-play capability and the Soundcraft consoles deliver on that front.”

During four days of presentations at a recent national sales conference, the LSAV team was tasked with managing the live sound by relying on stage cues, which not only required fast reactions from the operator, but also intuitive on-the-fly controls from the mixing console. This, coupled with the challenge of minimizing the FOH footprint, was not a problem for the Soundcraft Vi3000 used at the event.

“The fiber options of the Vi3000 allowed our team to position the console exactly where the producer wanted it to be,” said Huether. “We used two Compact Stagebox 36x16s with AES option cards and MADI fiber cards. With the channel count and I/O configuration, I had all my functions native and no longer needed to add anything to the system. This helped a lot when we were routing the fiber cables through the ceiling, since none were allowed on the floor.”

“The Soundcraft support team is always there for us,” said Huether. “Soundcraft support and the console features are always at my fingertips.”
