Mackie Provides Headphones to NAMM Idea Center, Bob Moog Foundation, and Women’s Audio Mission

Anaheim, CA — February 2019… The NAMM Idea Center was a focal point at this year’s Winter NAMM Show, offering a wealth of presentations about innovative retail and educational strategies and hosting special events such as the Believe in Music Awards and TEC Hall of Fame Awards.

Mackie was the Official Headphone Provider for this year’s Idea Center, supplying more than 300 pairs of the company’s new MC-250 high-performance studio headphones for the duration of the show. MC-250 headphones feature reference-quality 50 mm drivers and reveal every detail of a mix, delivering the clarity and accuracy needed for critical listening and mixing, along with exceptional low-frequency response.

At the conclusion of the Winter NAMM Show, Mackie donated the headphones to two highly effective nonprofit organizations: the Bob Moog Foundation and the Women’s Audio Mission. The Bob Moog Foundation (www.moogfoundation.org) preserves and promotes the legacy of Dr. Robert A. Moog, who invented analog music synthesizers that transformed contemporary music. The North Carolina-based organization inspires critical thinking through their innovative, experiential science of sound curriculum, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, as well as preserving Bob Moog’s legacy via their Moogseum project. The Women’s Audio Mission of San Francisco (www.womensaudiomission.org) educates and empowers women and girls by relating STEM to careers in audio engineering and music production and features a pro-spec recording studio.

“The Bob Moog Foundation is deeply grateful for Mackie’s tremendous support,” declares Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director of the Bob Moog Foundation. “Their donation will be of great assistance for our innovative educational program, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, and for our upcoming Moogseum, where visitors can learn about Bob Moog’s life and inventions. We are excited to deliver the sounds of the Moog legacy through these audiophile-grade headphones directly to our students and museum attendees.”

“You don’t always have the luxury of sitting in the ideal spot between monitor speakers,” reflects Terri Winston, executive director and founder of the Women’s Audio Mission . “We serve a wide range of students, from adults learning signal flow and digital recording to young women ages 11 to 18, in our groundbreaking after-school program ‘Girls on the Mic.’ Being able to trust what you hear is key, and the Mackie headphones will help many future generations of our graduates discover the best of their abilities.”

“We are delighted to make a difference for such effective organizations,” avers Mackie Marketing Director Shaunna Krebs. “Donating our MC-250 headphones to nonprofits that are instilling confidence in the next generation of musicians and engineers could not be a more fitting extension of our brand’s mission. We wish the utmost success to the Women’s Audio Mission and Bob Moog Foundation.”
