The Master of Mastering: Bob Katz SAE Institute UK Tour

SAE Institute is very proud to announce a series of mastering workshops at the colleges in the UK, Netherlands and Belgium with the guru of audio and music mastering, Mr. Bob Katz!
Bob Katz is one of the best-known and acknowledged mastering engineers in the USA. He has mastered several Grammy awared-winning albums and is highly regarded by audiophiles and colleagues from the industry. Author of one of the premier books about mastering, “Mastering Audio: the Art and the Science”, Bob Katz is known worldwide as a guru of digital sound.

As part of a multi-stop tour of SAE Institute, he will be giving seminars exclusive to students in Brussels, Amsterdam, London, and Oxford, as well as advanced seminars open to audio industry professionals. The industry seminar is intended for people who already have a moderate background

in audio, and registrations are still open in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Oxford. Visit the SAE web site to find out how you can register for this three-hour. Topics will include: the “loudness race”, mastering software and hardware, mastering tips and tricks, and monitor calibration.

Bob Katz Mastering Tour Dates:
SAE Oxford: May 18th, 2010
SAE London: May 21st, 2010 (Industry seminar registrations open)
SAE Amsterdam: May 25th, 2010 (Industry seminar registrations open)
SAE Brussels: May 28th, 2010 (Industry seminar registrations open)

Mr. Katz is true audiophile: he was the first to record music at 96kHz/24bit, the first to record 128x oversampled (and built the A/D converter to make that possible), and he invented the world’s first Ambiance Recovery Processor. Bob Katz IS high-end digital audio. He’s taken audio, and helps to maintain it, at an audiophile level of quality. What’s brilliant about his work is that, as he puts it, it’s Mastering with a capital “M”. It’s about GREAT sound, not just making it loud. Bob has mastered albums for virtually every major label of every genre, and has never disappointed with his results.
