The METAlliance recently held another in a series of educational events for the Hollywood community at the venerated Capitol Studios. The all-day program explored today's state-of-the-art quality of recording with educators and students in audio engineering. Founding METAlliance directors Chuck Ainlay, Ed Cherney, George Massenburg, Phil Ramone and Al Schmitt were among the speakers who presented examples of hi-resolution recordings, music videos and anecdotes about life in the studio over the years.
The Hollywood workshop served as a precursor to the second annual METAlliance Educator Summit to convene October 8 on the eve of the AES Convention in NYC, at NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Invitees expected to attend include New York University, Berklee College of Music,
Univ. of Mass. at Lowell, Univ. of Michigan, Webster University, Belmont University, McGill University, and the University of Southern California. Additional international educators from Mexico, South America, Japan and Europe are also expected to participate.
