MULTIDYNE DEBUTS NEW OPENGEAR HD/SD EMBEDDER AND DE-EMBEDDER CARDS AT GOVERNMENT VIDEO EXPO 2009

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a premier provider of fiber optic-based video and audio transport and routing solutions for broadcast and pro A/V applications, will introduce its new openGear compatible DEM-4322G HD/SD De-embedder and EMB-4321G HD/SD Embedder to attendees at this year’s Government Video Expo (Booth 615).

The addition of the new DEM-4322G and EMB-4321G cards expands MultiDyne’s commitment to the openGear standard, giving MultiDyne customers ultimate flexibility when selecting new equipment. Founded by Ross Video, the openGear platform is based on an open architecture, 2RU modular frame designed to accommodate up to 10 cards in the DFR-8310 frame and up to 20 cards in the DFR-8320 frame. The DEM-4322G and EMB-4321G are excellent companion cards for MultiDyne’s recently released HD-4400four-channel fiber optic transport system, giving users an openGear compatible option for inserting and transporting audio

optically.

“We

really listened to what our customers needed when developing our new openGear DEM-4322G and EMD-4312G cards, says Frank Jachetta, senior vice president of sales and operations. “At MultiDyne, we have a commitment to understanding and addressing our customers needs, and we were hearing from more and more users who needed ancillary products for video and audio processing. Due to our ongoing participation in openGear, these new cards can also be easily integrated into an existing frame, saving our customers time and money.

The openGear DEM-4322G is an HD/SD-SDI, 24-bit audio processing card that supports 16 embedded channels. In turn, the card provides 16 de-embedded channels that can be sourced from any of the input embedded channels. A key feature of the card is its full user remote and card-edge proc control. These controls allow adjustment of audio levels and routing, with user memory that allows the adjustment of white level, black level, color gain and color phase.

Featuring local and remote user controls and video proc controls, the EMB-4321G HD/SD embedder can be controlled and monitored remotely via DashBoard™ software. This 24-bit audio processing card supports 16 AES channels, with 16 de-embedded channels from the SDI input and eight analog audio inputs. Sample rate converters allow audio re-timing, with audio channel mapping phase inversion and level control.

Both cards feature an industry-leading five year warranty. In addition, both cards can also be upgraded to include a Dolby decoding option with metadata output for further noise reduction.
