Nashville, TN, August 12, 2013 – Hummingbird Productions, one of America’s leading producers of original music and sound design for the advertising industry, has expanded its musical outreach in 2013 with a string of national campaigns. The announcement was made today by Bob Farnsworth, CEO/Founder/Creative Director, Hummingbird Productions. See:

Headquartered in Nashville, TN, Hummingbird is renown for its talent and collaboration with artists and producers including: Grammy Award-winning producer/songwriter Keith Thomas; Byron House, bass player for Robert Plant’s “Band of Joy”; Dennis Holt, session drummer on Taylor Swift’s “Beautiful Eyes” EP; Swan Dive vocalist Molly Felder, whose commercial credits include national advertisers Pepsi, Michelob, and Chevrolet; as well as many others.

Touting the slogan “Hearing is Believing,” Hummingbird Productions became industry recognized for its Clio Hall of Fame Award winning work on the “Budweiser Frogs” TV commercial in 1995. Over the last decade, the company has evolved into a collective of talented writers, artists, and producers who collaborate on some of the best music consistently featured in major national advertising campaigns.

Among the recent, national clients for which Hummingbird Productions has produced music and sound design are:

** Prilosec OTC: Working with New York-based ad agency Publicis Kaplan Thaler, Hummingbird created and produced music for a new TV spot titled “Picnic” starring Larry the Cable Guy. The popular comedian and actor promotes Prilosec OTC in his traditional blue collar fashion at a picnic. Hummingbird’s music supports his rowdy antics and helps “drive” the blue collar nature of the commercial. Please see:

** Chili’s: For a special Chili’s Restaurant promotion entitled “Chili’s Free One Million Flatbread Giveaway,” Hummingbird wrote and produced music to enhance this campaign. The music was specifically written and inspired by the Motown genre and features an upbeat horn section. See:

** Brillo: Brillo recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a campaign featuring original, ‘60s style rock music by Hummingbird Productions. The track includes vocals by legendary Nashville Motown singer Scat Springs. Entitled “Brillo It Off,” the spot highlights the American made Brillo estracell sponge product. Please view:

** Purina: The Purina Beneful Dog Food brand tapped Hummingbird Productions to write and produce original music for the web video “Don’t Forget to Play.” To date, the video has attracted over 60,000 views on the Purina Beneful brand YouTube channel. The music features vocals from up and coming Nashville artist Savannah Conley. View:

Regarding Hummingbird’s continued prominence within the world of original music for advertising, Farnsworth said, “We’ve been around since 1976, and have been focused on original music all along. We like to think of ourselves as the ‘right people to call’ — we have been fortunate to become nationally recognized for the great music branding that, when done right, benefits our clients’ products and services for many years.”

Farnsworth has appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” — touting the need for effective branding by advertisers. Today, he finds it rewarding to see a revived era where advertising clients are integrating sonic branding back into their campaigns. He adds, “Last year, we had the privilege to create new music for Coca-Cola in conjunction with the 2012 Summer Olympics. Since then, we’ve noticed that advertisers are now, once again, embracing branding and original music.”

“Hummingbird is a company that understands the importance of musical branding – we’ve been saying this all along. We have never lost this way of thinking. We consider ourselves truly authentic with this perspective,” Farnsworth concludes. Adds Hummingbird writer and marketing director P.G. Banker, “Research suggests that brands who advertise with music are 96% more likely to be recalled than those with no music at all. Music is a proven powerhouse when it comes to influencing our emotions. Everyone wants to feel good about the products and services that we buy.”
