Lauderdale, FL – July 2017… Synthax, Inc, distributors of RME world-class audio production tools for both studio and live applications, announces that the included TotalMix FX software package for the RME Babyface Pro 24-Channel 192 kHz bus-powered USB audio interface packs a wealth of power and functionality that offers improved usability. TotalMix FX offers professionals high quality EQ, dynamics, and on-board DSP featuring reverb and delays. To ensure seamless integration with the Babyface Pro, the software has been rewritten from the ground up. Used with the Babyface Pro, the combined system not only matches features of high-end digital consoles; it also adds effects such as a 3-band parametric EQ along with Low Cut on all input and output channels.
The Babyface Pro provides a separate FX send bus for all inputs and software playback channels, feeding two effect engines: Reverb and Echo. Every output channel includes an FX return control for the FX output signal. The system’s Control Room Section provides a dedicated section for the main output such as studio monitors along with other monitoring outputs such as headphones. All existing stereo output channels can be freely assigned as a source for the control room section channels.
TotalMix FX software provides a wide range of capabilities that enable the Babyface Pro to excel in both studio and live applications. Key to this rich feature set are the presence of four definable groups for Solo, Mute and Faders along with switchable Mono and Stereo channel views. The software’s Channel Options include Stereo Width, MS Processing, and Phase L/R. Equally notable, Trim mode adjusts the volume for all routed signals of a channel. This option enables one to modify the volume of all sends of a channel simultaneously—equaling a hardware console’s trim functionality.
Users will appreciate the system’s unlimited Undo and Redo functionality—enabling one to change settings without penalty. The FX Sends and Returns are equally versatile, as the system provides one send bus for every input/playback channel—with Reverb/Echo. Adding further versatility is the fact that there is an expandable channel view for channel settings and EQ setup.
The software’s visual interface is equally well-designed. Slim channel mode may be used for selected or all channels to save space or to provide a meter bridge view. In 2-Row Mode, the system reduces the height of the mixer to two rows for smaller displays.
