ST. PAUL, MINN., — August 8, 2011 — Call it the luck of the Irish music — made in part by McNally Smith College of Music alum Greg Schutte and Faculty member Ricardo Ehramijian. But the Wild Colonial Bhoys’ new Celtic Rock CD, Heads or Tails, touts great songs and spiraling sounds, ideal over a pint, on the dance floor, or both!

Earning his Professional Musicians Course Degree with a Major in Percussion at McNally Smith in 1997, Schutte produced

and played drums on the new disc while Ehramijian mixed the batch. Ricardo’s the past drummer and band manager for Tim Mahoney and the Blue Meenies, who has also worked with Paul Westerberg, Alison Scott, Michael Bland, Kevin Bowe, GB Leighton, Shane Henry, Jim Anton, Billy Thomas, Noah Levy, Sue Foley, Bruce McCabe, Brian Gallagher and many others. Heads and Tails will get an appropriate send off when the Wild Colonial Bhoys hold a CD Release Party at the annual Irish Fair on Harriet Island August 11, sponsored by Cities, from 7-10 p.m., in the Pub tent.

“The new Wild Colonial Bhoys is a very cutting-edge Irish Rock CD that just about anyone can enjoy,� Ehramijian notes, while also praising Shutte’s work ethic and recording prowess. “Greg has emerged as an expert studio producer and is often sought-after as a drummer. We’ve done several projects together at his own studio and on different discs and he really knows how to make things work.�

Schutte continues to be an in-demand producer at his NE studio, The Bathtub Shrine, and popular studio and live player, who is currently working with local and national artists, including: Jelloslave, Bill Mike CO-OP, Minneapolis Dub Ensemble, Lorie Line, April Sellers Dance Collective and Ananya Dance Theater. Over the past 15 years Greg has shared the stage with many artist such as: Anthony Cox, Clay Moore Trio, Shane Henry (2005 BB King Blues Festival), The Rule (Cyndi Lauper Summer Tour 2007), Alicia Wiley, Sue Foley, Bernard Allison, Mary Cutrufello, Ted NashI and many others
