The awards program, hosted each fall during the AES (Audio Engineering Society) trade show, honors outstanding achievement in a variety of categories that encompasses both creative and technical areas.
Hosted by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, this year’s awards ceremony marked the 24th year for the TEC Awards. The show occurred on the first night of the 125th AES Convention, which this year, was held at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The Royer Live Series won the TEC Award in the category of Microphone Technology/Sound Reinforcement. John Jennings, Royer VP of Sales and Marketing accepted the award for the company.
“All of us at Royer Labs are happy and extremely proud to see that our Live Series microphones have made their way into the live sound market and have been received with the same level of enthusiasm as our studio mics have, said Jennings to thunderous applause by a large group of enthusiastic supporters. “The fact that ribbon mics continue to gain momentum amidst an extremely competitive product category is tremendously gratifying. I would also like to say thank you to all the FOH and monitor engineers who have offered their advice and suggestions and have helped us develop the line with the capabilities necessary in the high SPL environment of live sound.
