SENNHEISER INTRODUCES THE PRO EAR-CANAL: IE HEADPHONE SERIES

OLD LYME, CONNECTICUT – DECEMBER 2008: The new IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8 ear-canal headphones from Sennheiser bring the trusted pro-grade audio quality that performers use on-stage to all music enthusiasts. The IE Series offers the greatest reduction of ambient noise with unparalleled sound quality in the portable sector – an advantage for anyone who likes to listen to music with as much precision and detail as possible.

“With the IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8, music fans can enjoy the same incredibly accurate sound reproduction their favorite artists rely upon in-concert,” explains Eric Stubbert, industry team manager for consumer electronics and telecommunications products at Sennheiser Electronic Corporation. “Each of these incredibly durable in-ear headphones also suppresses an impressive amount of ambient noise for an even more amazing listening experience.”

The IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8 ear-canal headphones are designed with dynamic transducers that cover the entire frequency range with one system; even tricky basslines and thunderous sound effects separate themselves clearly in the mix. This eliminates the distortion that detracts from the integrity of the original source material, even at high sound pressure levels. Ear adapters in different sizes ensure the IE headphones fit your ear canal perfectly, are comfortable to wear, and effectively seal off ambient noise. Good isolation further enhances precise audio reproduction. The top-of-the-range IE 8 can reach up to 26dB of noise blocking attenuation.

All the models feature robust and functional design. The cables are strengthened with Kevlar(tm) and the headphones are made from durable materials. Each headphone is also equipped with a transport case, small cleaning tool, and a cable clip.

IE 6: FOR BASS ENTHUSIASTS The silver and black IE 6 ear-canal headphones offer accurate and defined deep bass for listeners of contemporary rock or pop music with passive attenuation up to 20dB and a frequency response of 10 to 18,000Hz.

IE 7: THE CLASSIC OFFERING With a frequency response of 10 to 19,000Hz and attenuation up to 20dB, the black IE 7 produces a more balanced, natural sound. Particular importance has been paid to achieving brilliant sound reproduction at the top end, delivering the subtle nuances of old and new recordings.

IE 8: FOR THE DISTINGUISHED AUDIOPHILE With the top-of-the-range IE 8, the user can completely customize the frequency response to their listening preferences. A low-profile dial on each earphone enables fine-tuning of the bass response. The frequency response ranges from 10 to 20,000Hz, and passive attenuation up to 26dB.

Included in the transport case are some small replaceable pads with a drying agent to protect the earphones from any moisture that typically develops during use or when moving through different rooms and regions with varying humidity.
