Mic to Monitor, Prism Sound’s popular educational seminar tour, is heading to Singapore in August as part of an extensive programme that takes place in Europe, the USA, Australia and now the Far East.
Aimed at music production students, hobbyists and professionals, these free seminars aim to dispel the many myths surrounding the recording process. The events answer those all-important questions such as what makes great gear great, what does it take to become a successful and in demand audio engineer, how do recording professionals tackle different aspects of their productions and how is a hit sound achieved?
The Singapore date will take place on August 18th 2016 at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, which is part of the National University of Singapore. For this event Prism Sound is partnering with its local distributor Control Devices (CDA Pro Audio); loudspeaker company Adam Audio and its Singapore distributor Consolidated Audio Networks (CAN) and microphone manufacturer Audio Technica.
The VIP speaker for this event is international producer Roland Lim whose work has resulted in three Top 10 Rock Metal albums in America, Australia and Canada and two iTunes Best New Artist Singapore listings (for Gentle Bones in 2014 and The Little Giant in 2015). He has also had over 10 No. 1 Singles and multiple chart hits in countries across Asia and his production work has won numerous accolades including Best Instrumental/World Album Award at the VIMA Awards in 2011 and Noise Singapore Song of the Year Awards in 2009 and 2010. Lim will talk Mic to Monitor attendees through some of his mixes and reveal how he gets his signature sound.
The seminar will also feature presentations from all three supporting manufacturers and the topics discussed will range from audio hardware design, recording techniques and how to get the best from your studio.
Graham Boswell, Sales Director of Prism Sound, says: “We’re thrilled to have finally added a date in Asia on our Mic to Monitor tour schedule and we anticipate plenty of demand for places. These seminars are always popular because, no matter where you are in the world, there are new recording tricks and techniques to be learned, even by people who are already making a successful living in this field. Our aim is to give people the opportunity to learn from experts who are happy to share the knowledge they have learned over many years in the industry.”
Places at Mic to Monitor 2016 events are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Those wishing to reserve a place at the Singapore event should visit http://www.m2msingapore.eventbrite.com
