SonicPool Announces Latest Documentary & Short Film Projects, Including “Finding Aloha”

Hollywood, CA, Nov. 20, 2008 – SonicPool, one of Hollywood’s leading post facilities, specializing in audio and video finishing, edit suite rentals, and full post-production services, has announced its latest documentary film and short film projects. The announcement was made by John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders, SonicPool.

“THE MAN WHO RAN AROUND THE WORLD:�

For client Make Believe Media, Inc., SonicPool provided the mix for this documentary film about a Swiss couple—Serge and Nicole Roetheli, who were determined to run more than 25,000 miles around the world, crossing six continents, in efforts that took more than five years of their lives. This documentary footage was shot by the Roetheli’s with their own home video camera. By running in conjunction with their partnerships with a number of international charities, the couple’s running routes included visits to various children’s hospitals and other charitable outposts located around the globe.

On behalf of client Outereef Productions, SonicPool provided the mix for this exciting and high profile Surf Cinema documentary film. Dave Irvin, Producer/Editor, said, “SonicPool’s experience in working with independent film projects was a real asset to our team. And they bent over backwards to get us our mix in time for our film’s premiere!â€?

“Finding Aloha� marks a cinematic convergence of body and mind. It contains dynamic action footage, some of the most stunning ever to appear on film, but it is also a testament to the human spirit. Armed with both qualities of physical prowess and a gentle heart, these adventurous athletes find the key to harmony in the Hawaiian Islands. The 60-minute film, written and directed by Phil Waller, and produced by Outereef Productions, recently made its debut at the Hawaii International Film Festival and will also show soon at the Maui Film Festival.

And, on behalf of client, filmmaker Brad Kammlah, SonicPool delivered the mix and the online color correction for this short dramatic film. Said Kammlah, “Working with Sonic Pool was great! Written and directed by Kammlah, “Purge� is the story of a woman’s struggle to mask the pain from years of sexual abuse. The lead character, Joy, finds herself trapped in a secret addiction. But when her mother refuses to believe the truth about her father, Joy tries to find her own way out.
