SonicPool Completes Online, Coloring and Mix for “Weather Girl,” Including First Company DI Work

Hollywood, CA, June 23, 2008 – SonicPool, one of Hollywood’s leading post facilities, specializing in audio and video finishing, edit suite rentals, and full post-production services, has completed the online and coloring, as well as the mix, for a new, upcoming, indie feature film entitled “Weather Girl. The announcement was made by John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders, SonicPool.

ABOUT SONICPOOL’S WORK ON “WEATHER GIRL:

SonicPool’s Colorist Jason Yanuzzi has just completed the online and coloring for “Weather Girl, for client Steakhaus Productions, and producers Steak Haus and Tricia O’Kelley (who also stars in the film.) John Frost and Patrick Bird have completed the audio mix for this film as well.

Says Yanuzzi, This project represents more of a Digital Intermediate (DI) workflow process for us than a traditional online, since our online and color correction work was all done on a digital file basis. There were no dailies here, only digital files from the film itself, which was shot on a Panasonic P2 system. This is the first time we at SonicPool have utilized a DI workflow process for a P2 shot feature film.

“Weather Girlâ€? was directed by Blayne Weaver through his Secret Identity Productions. Says Weaver, “I couldn’t be happier with my experience at
SonicPool. The facilities are great, the staff members are all experts in their fields and they all seem invested in making a great product. I spent my entire time at SonicPool shuffling between the sound mix and the color correction/visual effects and through every step of the process I felt my film was in good hands.”

“Weather Girl is the story of a Seattle morning show weathergirl (“New Adventures of Old Christine star Tricia O’Kelley,) who, after learning her boyfriend (Mark Harmon) has cheated on her, is fired after freaking out on-air. Forced to move in with her little brother and to cope with being 35, single and unemployed, she begins an unlikely romance with a younger man — her brother’s best friend.
