Hollywood, CA December 22, 2011 – SonicPool, one of Hollywood’s leading post facilities, specializing in sound and picture finishing, edit suite rentals, and full post-production services, has named Doug Vargas as its new Controller.
Mr. Vargas, who had been Director of Production Finance at promo house Studio City, will be in charge of managing all accounts and long term financial planning at SonicPool, including their Burbank and New Orleans locations.
The hiring of Mr. Vargas comes weeks after SonicPool’s expansion of services and facilities.
“SonicPool has been rapidly growing and expanding; Therefore, we needed someone to ensure and enhance our bottom line,” noted John Frost, President. “His experience and understanding of production and post production will be a huge benefit to SonicPool, and most importantly, our clients.”
Before joining SonicPool, Mr. Vargas was Director of Production Finance at Studio City and helped launch their new production company, Bartholomew Productions Inc., with FOX’s Dish Nation. Prior to Studio City, he worked for Mark Burnett Productions for nine and a half years as a production accountant, prep/wrap accountant, and manager of production accounting on location for their hit shows Survivor and The Apprentice.
