SonicPool Spooks Up New Audio Projects for Horror and Dramatic Films

Hollywood, CA, Oct. 26, 2007 – SonicPool, one of Hollywood‘s leading post facilities, specializing in audio and video finishing, edit suite rentals, and full post-production services, has announced the company‘s most recent work in the areas of audio services for a variety of horror and highly dramatic films. These projects include the company‘s work in the areas of providing mixing/sweetening, online and offline services. The announcement was made by John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders, SonicPool.

SonicPool‘s latest feature film work in the horror and dramatic film genres includes:

Sound Design and Mix for Feature Films:

“Killer Movie:” For client Dead of Winter Productions, and first time film producer Jeff Fisher (whose TV credits include “The Simple Life,” “Miami Undercover,” “The Nick Cannon Show,” “The Real World,” “Big Brother” and “Making the Band,”) SonicPool is providing the film mix and sound design, as well as Offline Editorial Facilities for “Killer Movie,” written and directed by Jeff Fisher, and starring Kaley Cuoco, star of CBS TV‘s hit series “The Big Bang Theory.” The storyline: A reality television shoot goes terrifyingly awry when its crew becomes stranded in a remote Northern town. A killer is on the loose, stalking cast and crew one by one.

Mixing & Onlining for Feature Film Trailers and TV Promos:

“Wristcutters:” For client After Dark Films, SonicPool is providing the theatrical mix and online for trailers and TV spots promoting “Wristcutters.” The film, written and directed by Goran Dukic, stars Jake Busey and Tom Waits. The film‘s storyline is set in a strange afterlife way station that has been reserved for people who have committed suicide.

Online for Feature Film:

“On The Doll:” For client Doom, Inc., SonicPool is providing online and Color Timing services for “One the Doll,” a film about the victims of child abuse, and the pain it visits upon their later lives. Written and directed by Thomas Mignone, the film stars Brittany Snow, Theresa Russell and James Russo.

Online for Trailers & Promos:

“Fierce People:” For client After Dark Films, SonicPool has provided theatrical mixing and on-lining for the feature film trailer and TV spots promoting “Fierce People.” That film starts Diane Lane, Donald Sutherland and Elizabeth Perkins

Offline Services for Feature Films:

“Kings Highway:” For client Candle Room Productions LLC, SonicPool has provided offline Editorial Facilities for this film, starring Eric Roberts, Burt Young and Edward Furlong.

“Brief Interviews with Hideous Men:” SonicPool‘s client for this project is Upload Films. This film, about a graduate student who copes with a recent breakup by conducting interviews with various men, stars Julianna Nicholson and Timothy Hutton, and is written and directed by John Krasinski.


Launched in Hollywood in 2001, SonicPool was co-founded by post production specialists John Frost and Patrick Bird. Each of the men currently serves the company as a President and CEO.

SonicPool is comprised of 14 SD & HD Offline and Online Edit Suites, two Theatrical Mix Stages and two additional Mix Suites, as well as a complete Machine Room Services with all the standard SD & HD decks. The company‘s post production services include Audio and Video Finishing, edit suite rentals, and media duplication. SonicPool‘s creative services include radio production.
