SOUND DEVICES 788T TAKES HOME THE CINEMA AUDIO SOCIETY TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

REEDSBURG, WI — Sound Devices 788T digital recorder has been named the winner of the Cinema Audio Society’s (CAS) Technical Achievement Award in the production category. The CAS Technical Achievement Awards recognize innovations in recording technologies, including both hardware and software products that are used by sound mixing professionals.

The 2009 CAS Awards for Technical Achievement were presented in a sealed-envelope ceremony at the 45th Annual CAS Awards held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 788T is designed specifically for multi-track, on-location productions and features a significant expansion of input and output capability — eight full-featured microphone inputs and twelve tracks of recording – all in a design that’s compact and lightweight.

To accommodate the larger data storage requirements of multi-track recordings, the 788T comes equipped with a 160 GB 2.5-in. internal SATA hard disk drive. This on-board storage provides up to 30 hours of 8-track, uncompressed 24-bit audio recording of industry-standard Broadcast Wave files.

“Sound Devices is pleased to be named the winner of CAS’ Technical Award for the 788T, says Sound Devices Managing Director Jon Tatooles. “CAS bestowed this honor on us in 2006 for our 744T recorder. We hope to continue to create award-winning audio products that are specifically designed for field and on-location productions.
