The METAlliance Academy Announces Artist Roster

The METAlliance today announced the artist roster for recording sessions at the 2018 METAlliance Academy taking place March 10 & 11 at Capitol Studios in Hollywood. Tierney Sutton and Jose’ James will be performing and recording tracks for all attendees to witness and enjoy.

This exclusive event follows on the heels of a sold-out weekend at Avatar studios in NYC after AES 2017. “In Session with The Guys” attendees will participate and interact with the METAlliance founders in live recording and mixing sessions. By special arrangement, The METAlliance is taking over the historic Capitol Studios for the entire weekend.

Blue Note recording artist José James and producer, Don Was, will be in session with Ed Cherney. Often referred to as a jazz singer for the hip-hop generation, New York City-based vocalist José James combines jazz, soul, drum’n’bass, and spoken word into his own unique brand of vocal jazz. “We’ll be working on tracks for José’s new Blue Note album for the entire weekend,” said Cherney. “And we’ve got a great band lined up, too!”

Grammy, Emmy and TEC Award-winner Ed Cherney has engineered for decades on memorable records by Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, Ringo Star, Elton John, Iggy Pop, Bette Midler, Neil Diamond, Ringo Starr and the Rolling Stones, among many others. Cherney’s recordings are widely recognized throughout the music industry as a benchmark for capturing fine performances.

Another one of the featured artists at the March event is jazz singer and 8-time Grammy nominee Tierney Sutton who has toured throughout the world and headlined at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
