Westner Joins iZotope as Business Development Manager

Music Technology Veteran Alex Westner joins iZotope from Cakewalk, Inc.

NAB – Las Vegas, Booth C1620 (April 12, 2010) – iZotope, Inc., a leading developer of audio signal processing tools and effects, announces the addition of music technology veteran Alex Westner to the position of Business Development Manager. Westner joins iZotope from Cakewalk, Inc. and will be tasked with the worldwide responsibility for the licensing and market development of iZotope technology.

“Alex’s work in music technology and vast experience and knowledge in audio signal processing will be a valuable asset to iZotope,� explains Mark Ethier, CEO of iZotope, Inc. “Having Alex on board will allow iZotope to accelerate expansion into several growing market segments.�

Westner brings a unique background of engineering, marketing and product development to iZotope. Beginning at the MIT Media Lab, Westner earned his Master’s

degree specializing in audio signal processing. He consulted for Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs (MERL) and the MIT Brain Opera on cutting-edge audio research and development, and then joined Wave Arts where he transitioned from R&D to product marketing. This experience brought him to Cakewalk, where he ultimately became the Director of the Product Management. His leadership helped shape many successful products including collaborations with Roland Corporation.

iZotope technology is available for licensing across many markets from consumer electronics to telecommunications. Westner will be focused on the pro audio software, consumer software, console video game, and iPhone app markets, with algorithms ranging from audio processing for video production to creative sound design, mixing, and mastering for audio production.

Westner and his iZotope colleagues will be on hand at the NAB show in booth #C1620 featuring demos of the ANR-B realtime adaptive noise reduction hardware and RX Advanced, a complete audio restoration tool.
