Willcox Guitars Announces New Manufacturer’s Representative Appointments

Company expands sales force as part of its long-term strategic business plan

Carpinteria, California – Willcox Guitars, an acclaimed instrument manufacturer and a leading innovator in guitar and bass pickups and related technologies through its proprietary LightWave Systems (LWS), announces the appointment of two new representatives. Sherman Oaks, CA-based firm Audio Management Group (Casey Young, principal) has joined the Willcox team as Manufacturer’s Representative for the West Coast region, including Arizona, California, Oregon and Nevada. Additionally, Dallas-based firm DX2 (Dave Roberts, CEO) has been named Manufacturer’s Representative for the territory comprising Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The announcement was made by Willcox Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Tom Kowalczyk, and reflects the company’s ongoing expansion and long-term strategic business plan.

Young and Roberts’ responsibilities will include driving sales and marketing activities on behalf of Willcox Guitars and LightWave Systems in their respective regions, along with the implementation and maintenance of product line distribution within these territories. Working closely with Tom Kowalczyk, they will also create and perform regional retail promotional sales events on behalf of Willcox/LightWave, while supporting M.I. retailers and specialty guitar shops. Additionally, they will both be attending the upcoming Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, where Willcox will have a notable presence.

Casey Young’s biography in the music industry is extensive, including studio credits with such artists as Michael Jackson, Jimmy Cliff, Tina Turner, Manhattan Transfer, Al Jarreau, Juice Newton and many more. For these artists and others, he was called upon to lend keyboards, programming, remixing, production or related contributions. He has held sales and/or management positions with West L.A. Music, TC Electronic and Lexicon Professional, before founding Audio Management Group. He maintains an active music production career in addition to his efforts representing some of the industry’s top brands.

Dave Roberts, likewise, has decades of experience in the music and technology industries, functioning in various roles as vice president, product manager, consultant, technical writer and trainer, manufacturer’s representative, engineer, producer/director and service manager. He served as Vice President of Scott Studios Inc. (Now Google Broadcast). From 1999 trough 2010 David owned Electric Aero Modeling USA, a pioneer in the electric R/C aircraft arena, with clients including NASA, Boeing, Lockheed and others. He has worked overseas in Afghanistan, under consulting contracts with UNESCO/UNDP and Internews Networks. He continues to work as a freelance recording engineer, producer and writer, and as a guitar technician, he is in an ideal position to represent Willcox Guitars.
