
Saugerties, NY (October 6, 2026)—Grammy-winning producer/engineer Robert Margouleff and legendary studio designer John Storyk will be the guests of honor at an October 18 event at Applehead Recording Woodstock in Saugerties, NY.
The event will highlight Margouleff’s newly released memoir, Shaping Sounds: Stevie Wonder, DEVO, The Synth Revolution and My Life Behind the Music, and will see the two industry veterans sit down for an insightful chat with Joe Schick, former Bearsville Studio manager and music industry veteran.

Margouleff will reflect on his career, sharing personal stories and achievements as he recounts how he worked with artists including Stevie Wonder, Devo, Billy Preston, and David Sanborn to create influential music in legendary spaces like Electric Lady Studios and the Record Plant LA. He’ll also explore the history of TONTO, the mega-synthesizer he invented with creative and producing partner Malcolm Cecil more than 55 years ago.

Storyk—who designed Electric Lady and helped design TONTO—will also contribute to the discussion. The evening will feature rare, archival photos from Margouleff’s book alongside high-fidelity audio playback of master tracks, including Stevie Wonder classics and Devo’s “Whip It,” experienced through Applehead Recording’s system.
