Avlex Corporation introduces the Superlux R102 ($399) ribbon microphone, which has an electro-magnetic transducer and a modular 2.5-micron thick aluminum alloy ribbon that is field replaceable. The phantom-powered R102 is designed to provide high sensitivity, a wide dynamic range, low distortion and decreased self-noise.
The R102’s frequency response is 20 to 15k Hz, and it handles 140dB SPL. It includes a dual-core shielded cable and a microphone stand adapter. The HM-31 high-isolation shock-mount is optionally available.
