Peter Pan began the first dates of its theater-based farewell tour this fall at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts in La Mirada, Calif. Crown I-Tech Series amplifiers were chosen by Sound Advice LLC; sound engineer Julie Ferrin of Sound Advice was on hand.

The I-Tech amplifiers power a 16-element JBL Professional VerTec® VT 4888 system, with eight I-T4000s on the highs and mids, eight I-T6000s on the lows and two I-T6000s power the subwoofers. Three I-Tech 4000s are used for front-fill and onstage monitor speakers.

Ferrin explained, “The amplifier design is incredibly intelligent, and the built-in processing allows me to eliminate other processing gear that can take up a lot of extra space. The 2U chassis and the lightweight design is a huge plus for me since I will have only three amplifier racks for the entire show that two people can easily move. The IQwic software is very user-friendly and can monitor everything about the system. A custom home page can be set up to accommodate the displays that you need and you have direct control right at your fingertips. I had had the rig out on three musical productions before the opening at La Mirada, and I was immediately amazed with the system’s capabilities. I know that I made the right choice.”
