Chalice Recording Studios in Los Angeles has launched the Studio Apprentice Workshop, a new series of “real-world” classes designed for interns and runners entering the world of recording.

The workshops place emphasis on signal flow, miking techniques, studio etiquette, and how the DAW integrates into the studio environment. Technical operations manager Stacey Dodds designed the courses to enable interns and runners to move up the chain in a faster, more efficient way.

The first workshop, on signal flow, will be lead by Robert Breen, head of career development and industry relations for Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology, on December 11, 2005. Workshops are free to graduates of any recording school.
