PARAGON STUDIOS BRINGS SOUND AND PICTURE EDITING UNDER ONE ROOF

Nashville Audio Post-Production Facility Unveils New Picture Edit Suite

Franklin, TN—Paragon Studios, an industry leader in audio, broadcast and film post-production, recently put the final touches on its brand new state-of-the-art picture editing suite. This addition creates a multi-faceted studio that now allows for all picture and sound post-production needs to be completed at one single location.

“This has been a work in progress for the past year and while we still commonly work with other picture houses, it is a big benefit for us to be able to offer picture editorial services to our clients, says Fred Paragano, owner of Paragon Studios. “Now, all we have to do is run down the hall to address picture changes, which is significantly easier than running across town. This not only saves valuable time, but also allows us to provide cost-saving options through all-inclusive packages to our clients.

Led by Ken Conrad, senior picture editor, the Paragon Studios picture edit suite is HD equipped, centered around Final Cut Pro software that runs on an eight-core MacPro. AJA’s Kona 3 HD I/O card gives the ability to playback 2k footage in real-time while a Sony 46-inch LCD provides client playback. Conrad, who oversees a staff of talented video post production professionals, is responsible for all picture related supervision, editorial, color correction, DVD and Blu-Ray authoring, graphics and animation.

“The response I am receiving from the directors and producers that we work with is extremely positive, says Conrad. “Client’s inevitably have last minute changes. By having everything under one roof, we can make any required edits and turn around the final cut in the same day.

Paragon has been busy with the new picture editing suite since it came online. ‘Legends & Lyrics’ is a unique musical performance-based television series, which is driven by songwriters of all genres, blending in professional top artists including Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, 3 Doors Down, Kris Kristofferson, Charlie Daniels to name a few. The Roy Orbison Estate, a client of Paragon’s on the post audio side, has made use of the room for capturing and archiving footage from both its professional and personal collections. Additionally, Paragon has utilized its new functionality to include “Innocence & Instinct” and “End of Silence” Deluxe Edition DVD’s. These two DVDs feature music performances and behind-the-scenes footage of the band Red.

“Since we brought the room online, we have been extremely busy, says Paragano. “In the next three or four months we plan on adding another larger suite, which will allow us to take on even more projects and reinforce Paragon Studios and the Nashville area as a leader in all aspects of entertainment post-production.
