Bangor, ME (March 13, 2015)—College spring break is a rite of passage for countless students across the country, but things are often different for their professors. Case in point: Walter Clissen, associate professor in the audio engineering department at Husson University’s New England School of Communications, spent his time mixing the next José Feliciano album.
Taking over the school’s Audio Control E, Clissen worked with Feliciano’s executive producer/manager mixing the ambitious album, which finds the famed performer playing guitar along with members of the Sofia Symphonic Orchestra and soprano Arno Raunig. Uniquely the record will feature operatic arias for castrati composed by Mozart which have never been transcribed for guitar.
Making most of the school’s facility—Audio Control E sports a Digidesign ICON D Control console and Avid Pro Tools HDx system—the as-yet unnamed album is being mixed in both stereo and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound and will be released later this year.
