Web Radio Stations’ ‘Day of Silence’

The SaveNetRadio Coalition organized a “National Day of Silence” that took place today (June 26) to protest royalty hikes on the part of the Collective Royalty Board that are scheduled to take effect on July 15. The coalition states that the increased royalty requirements will endanger the future of Internet radio. Participating Web radio operators in today’s Day of Silence” include RealNetworks, MTV, Yahoo, Live365 and Pandora.

Internet radio listeners are encouraged to contact their Congressional representatives about this issue.
