The Last Days of Rock ’n’ Roll

Fred Goodman, managing editor for Pro Sound News and Pro Audio Review, recently released his latest album, The Last Days of Rock ’n’ Roll, with his band Fred and the Fredettes. Here's the video to his title track!

Fred Goodman, managing editor for Pro Sound News and Pro Audio Review, recently released his latest album, The Last Days of Rock ’n’ Roll, with his band Fred and the Fredettes. It contains 11 songs, all produced and penned by Goodman, who has been writing songs professionally for 40 years.

The album is a combination of older masters that Goodman recently had restored and digitized, plus more recent tracks. The title track was originally recorded in 1977 on 24-track, then remixed in Avid Pro Tools. The two mixing engineers were Frank Trosterud and Harley Fine, who both own home studios.

Goodman is no stranger to writing rockin’ tunes; in fact, he’s written several international hits, including “We Belong to the Night,” which was a #1 record in Holland for Ellen Foley. Foley’s version of another Goodman tune, “Hideaway,” is included on her Nightout CD. “Hideaway” was also recorded by the Iron City Houserockers. Dozens of Goodman’s songs have been recorded and more than 100 have been published. His tune, “Didn’t It Look So Easy,” was an R&B hit for the Stairsteps and can be found on their Greatest Hits CD.

Check out the music video of the album’s title track above, shot at Bicoastal Music in Ossining, NY–spot engineer Hal Winer making a cameo–and the full CD can be purchased/downloaded on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon, among others. Fred can currently be seen on tour throughout the PSN office.
