At NSCA 2005 in Orlando, Florida (booth #0331) Allen & Heath will be launching the PL-10 compact mixer interface for its iDR range of programmable DSP distributed audio solutions for fixed installation and live sound. A new version of Allen & Heath’s iDR System Manager software, which is used to configure the iDR hardware units, will also be released.

Similar to the PL-6 fader panel, the PL-10 is a compact mixer interface with eight rotary encoders, LED ladders and 16 configurable switches, making it possible to mix live events within the iDR system. In addition to an improved intuitive interface for programming the iDR matrix, the new iDR System Manager software, version 3.5, provides support for the new PL-10 module, including the ability to program personal monitor and foldback mixing. In V. 3.5, the 16×16 Crosspoint Matrix has been updated for greater control and to add 16 crosspoint groups, offering additional flexibility for individual crosspoint mutes and groups and allowing multiple level control.

Two core programmable DSP mixer units, the iDR-8 (8 I/O) and the iDR-4 (6 I/O), plus 8-channel iDR-In and iDR-Out expander units, may be combined into a 16×16 matrix with the PL Series of wall plates, fader panels and handheld remotes, as well as a range of push switch, indicator LED, rotary encoder, infra-red receiver and audio fader controllers. Recent additions to the PL Series of remote controller panels additionally enable remote display of status information and text messages (PL-7), logic control of external systems (PL-8) and provide a hub (PL-9) for up to seven individual connections to chains of PL devices.
