The nominees of the 23 Technical Achievement and eight Creative Achievement categories were evaluated by a group of industry experts from all facets of the pro audio and sound production industries. Final nominees are those products and projects that, in the opinion of the nominating panel, represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields.
Presented annually during The NAMM Show by the NAMM Foundation, TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and multi-media. At the ceremony, the Les Paul Innovation Award, honoring musical artists whose work has exemplified the creative application of audio technology, and the Hall of Fame Award, recognizing audio masters and engineers, are both awarded.

The voting period began on November 14 and continues through December 31, 2018.
The TEC Awards will return to The 2019 NAMM Show on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Hilton Anaheim Pacific ballroom. Nominees, their colleagues and friends are invited to attend a networking happy hour, dinner, great entertainment and the chance to be a TEC Awards winner. Ticket sales for the annual event are available.
