Herzberg Dies at 40

NEW YORK, NY—Tal Herzberg, an 8-time Grammy nominee for his work as a pop engineer and producer, has passed away at the age of 40.

NEW YORK, NY—Tal Herzberg, an 8-time Grammy nominee for his work as a pop engineer and producer, has passed away at the age of 40.

Often teaming up with producer/ record executive Ron Fair, Herzberg worked behind the desk with a who’s who of rock and pop, including U2, Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige and many others.

Born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, Herzberg started out as a bassist, working with numerous Israeli artists including the late Ofra Haza, before emigrating to the U.S. in 1992. Settling in Los Angeles, he moved into engineering and mastering and did a three-year stint in the mid ’90s as a full-time employee of Waves.

Herzberg served on the advisory council to the Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
