With views of the Sangre de Christo Mountains on one side and Jemez Mountains on the other, Stephen Arnold Music’s (www.stephenarnoldmusic.com) new Santa Fe, N.M., facility features a 500-square-foot control room designed to mimic the company’s Dallas locale. Additionally, the new facility features four bedrooms and baths for the overnight client.

“We wanted to be able to take whatever we did at our Dallas studio, save the mix and then complete the project in Santa Fe, and vice versa,” said Arnold. The new site has a 48-track RADAR V direct-to-disk recording system, complemented with a Yamaha DM2000 digital mixing console and a Sound Construction custom desk.

Stephen Arnold Music head engineer Paul West and creative director Chad Cook both plan to spend about 25 percent of their time at the new location and the remainder at the company’s Dallas headquarters. Arnold will do the majority of his composing in Santa Fe.
