Glyph Technologies has added the new GT 205 to its inventory, with saxophonist/composer/producer Branford Marsalis receiving the first one.

The GT 205 is a double-space rack enclosure with five bays, specifically designed for audio and video applications requiring multiple drives. On the left side of the rack, the GT 205 has four bays that can be configured with GT Key hot-swappable drives in capacities up to 500GB each, using Seagate 7,200 RPM hard drives exclusively. On the right side, the GT 205 has a SCSI/FireWire expansion bay that offers the option of AIT backup, a SCSI or FireWire hot-swap receiving bay, DVD-R/RW or CD-R/RW.

The GT 205 includes a free GT 051 tabletop FireWire hot-swap receiver, allowing you to easily shuttle content to other workstations with GT Key hard drives. Other members of the GT Series include the GT 050 fixed-mount tabletop, the GT 103 single-space three-bay rack, the GT 060BR FireWire 800 hardware RAID, and the new GT 050Q (Quad Interface) with FireWire 800, FireWire 400, USB and eSATA ports.

All GT Series solutions’ enclosures have an internal power supply and fan, and tabletops are rack-mountable with an optional rack kit. Integrity, Glyph’s FireWire hot-swap interface, allows a drive to be removed from the enclosure while separating at the FireWire level.
