Spectrasonics Releases Burning Grooves

Spectrasonics has released Burning Grooves, a Groove Control activated S.A.G.E. Xpander library for their Stylus RMX virtual groove instrument.

Spectrasonics has released Burning Grooves, a Groove Control activated S.A.G.E. Xpander library for their Stylus RMX virtual groove instrument. The company recently released four other Xpanders based on their Backbeat, Retro Funk, Liquid Grooves, and Metamorphosis collections. The release of the Burning Grooves Xpander is the first time the drum groove collection has been available with Spectrasonics’ Groove Control development technique, which allows playing the audio loops in a wide range of tempos with no loss in audio quality.

The Burning Grooves Xpander includes live drum grooves laid down by renowned drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. whose credits include Paul McCartney, Sting, Seal, Me’shell Ndegeocello, Chris Isaak, Steve Vai, k.d. lang, Jeff Beck, Joe Sample and Scritti Politti among many other artists. Burning Grooves also features extreme remixes of Laboriel’s musical performances by producer Eric Persing.

Burning Grooves offers a diverse selection of unrelenting hardcore, alternative, power funk, rock ‘n’ roll and grungehead loops with various tempos and feels. Each groove has a unique mix (edge, hi-fi, ambient, distorted, lo-fi, etc), and some have both hi-fi and lo-fi remixes. It is one of the only SAGE Xpanders to include different time signatures (3/4, 5/4, 6/8, 7/8, 12/8), as well as Tom-Tom and Sidestick grooves.

The Xpander DVD-ROM also includes a brand new Acoustic Groove Elements directory of isolated kick, snare, sidestick, hi-hat and ride cymbal grooves that can be interchanged with loops that do not include kick or snare in them. Over 130 new multipatches included on this Xpander combine the Burning Grooves loops with advanced Stylus RMX features. All the S.A.G.E. Xpanders, including Burning Grooves, have a U.S. retail price of $99.
