Hybrid Studios Hosts The Collective Sound

Summer Music Academy returns for Summer 2016

Santa Ana, CA (August 16, 2016) – For the third annual year, Orange County’s Hybrid Studios hosted The Collective Sound Summer Music Academy for the recording portion of their summer program. Hybrid Engineer Josh Brooks led campers through tracking and mixing in a full day recording session, as they participated in the production of an original song they wrote themselves. Following their time at Hybrid, they filmed a music video based on the song and played shows along the West Coast to get a full band experience.

“It was great having The Collective Sound back again this year,” said Hybrid Manager Mike Miller, “The campers are always impressive and super talented; it was also nice to see some returning faces and getting a chance to hear how they’ve grown as musicians and song writers.”

The Collective Sound Summer Music Academy is a summer music camp for young musicians, ages 12-18, to hone their musicianship skills in a creative environment. With a focus on collaboration, students are divided into bands, given a band manager, and rehearse original material daily in preparation for recording studio time and live performances. Founder Zac Smith holds the program overseas in Barcelona, Spain, as well as Orange County each summer.
