Robbinsville, NJ (October 26, 2026)—The BAPS North American headquarters, which shares its campus with the largest Hindu mandir (temple) in North America, has upgraded its studio with an SSL Oracle 24-channel in-line mixing console.
The facility regularly handles voice and music production and post-production for media content and is currently being used to record and mix a library of programming for a museum under construction at BAPS’ 185-acre campus, which is midway between New York City and Philadelphia.
The primary purpose of the studio is to create content for the weekly youth and adult congregations, summer seminars and other events held at Akshardham and the 125 other BAPS mandirs throughout North America.

“Some of it’s musical, but a lot of it’s voiceover,” explains technology overseer Aksharmurtidas Swami. “Right now, on this campus, we’re building a museum on Hinduism, so a lot of recording and mixing is happening here in the studio for that.”
The new Oracle, which offers a fully analog signal path with Instant Recall and reset of every console function, is being used for diverse applications, Aksharmurtidas Swami reports, and frequently needs to move quickly between projects. The mixing console that was originally installed in the studio when the campus and the studio officially opened in 2023 offered only partial recall, which affected not only Aksharmurtidas Swami’s workflow but also his creative contributions.
“You need to make recall as efficient and accurate as possible,” he says, “because I’m not going to sit there and recall everything every time someone wants to make a little change. Unless it’s instantly recallable, we’re just going to use the bare minimum of its functionality.”

While Oracle’s the reset capabilities are significant for BAPS, SSL’s audio performance and the fully analog signal path are also important. “We’ve been using SSL consoles for quite some time,” he explains. “We bought one of the first SSL AWS consoles in 2004; it’s still being used in Mumbai, India. And we have an SSL Matrix 2 in Sarangpur, India. So this is the third SSL console in our organization.”
