Nashville, TN (May 23, 2006)–According to AKG Acoustics’, its investment in research and development has resulted in the quantifiably longest battery life in each respective class of wireless microphone systems.

AKG’s WMS 40 PRO systems deliver over 30 continuous hours of operation from a single AA battery, the WMS 400 systems deliver 8 hours of operation from a single AA battery and the “top-of-the-line” WMS 4000 system delivers 12 to 15 hours of use from two AA batteries.

A musician or presenter who uses the AKG WMS 40 PRO wireless microphone system is guaranteed 30 hours of operation from one AA battery. A typical three-time-a-week user will save $130 to $140 per year in battery costs versus competitive systems that use two AA batteries, and over $220 per year over products that use 9-volt batteries. With WMS 40 PRO wireless systems, a typical user will save enough in battery savings to pay for the system in less than two years.

In addition to long battery life, AKG Acoustics is unique among wireless microphone manufacturers in that the company equips all of its transmitters with charging contacts and manufacturers its own charging stations that hold the entire unit. This technology allows users to charge batteries without removing them from the transmitter, saving hassle and valuable time in many performance situations.

With built-in circuitry to protect batteries from being “over-cooked” the AKG CU 400 dual-bay charging station provides ease-of-use in addition to battery-lifeextending technology. Designed to work with the AKG WMS 40 PRO and WMS 400 wireless systems, the CU 400 makes charging convenient and easy. Not only does AKG boast the longest wireless battery life in its class, but the WMS 4000 HiQnet-capable wireless system uses Smart Battery Management technology to provide a full recovery cycle when necessary, which guarantees the product for a minimum of 1000 recharges. WMS 4000’s batteries are controlled by a microprocessor that monitors the battery’s condition and tells the charger exactly how much charging is required. This advanced system dramatically extends the life of the battery, saving an end-user time and money.
