Rupert Neve Designs announces the 2-channel Portico 5014 stereo field editor. The 5014 is designed with the same half-rack dimensions as other units in the Portico Series, is available in horizontal or vertical formats, and incorporates Rupert Neve’s custom transformer designs.
Sounds are achieved in the analog domain using Neve’s discrete component circuits that encompass level controls, phase inversion, and a sum and difference network with three key features that affect stereo sources.
The 5014’s width control enables the user to increase or reduce the width of a stereo image (wide/mono) and adjust the level of ambience inherent in the recording. The depth control adjusts the spatial positioning of elements in the soundstage. The difference channel equalizer and insert allow manipulation of stereo signals.
