‘Record in Iceland’ Initiative to Announce 25% Rebate

Reykjavik, Iceland (December 2, 2020)—Iceland Music has announced Record in Iceland, an initiative — including a reimbursement incentive — to promote recording music in the island nation.

The Record in Iceland online conference takes place Dec. 3, 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. EST, to highlight key messaging and detail music recording benefits, including a 25% reimbursement incentive.

The online conference will also host a variety of guest speakers, including Thordis Kolbrún Gylfadóttir, Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Innovation; Vikingur Olafsson, pianist; Dustin O’Halloran, pianist and composer; Bjarni Frímann, music director/assistant conductor; Atli Örvarsson, composer; Thorvaldur B. Thorvaldsson, managing director; Emilíana Torrini, singer/songwriter; Ólafur Arnalds, musician, composer and record producer; Markéta Irglová, musician and composer; and musician and performer GDRN.

Miking to Meet Bjork’s Vision

The initiative is targeted to inform music industry professionals, decision makers, composers, musicians, record labels, music supervisors, music executives, and others about the benefits of choosing Iceland.

Icelandair has donated two economy flights to Reykjavik, which will be given away during the online conference. The gift certificate will serve as payment for airfare (the payment does not include taxes or other charges) on economy fare family rate. Event attendees must be present in order to win.
