New Orleans, LA (May 4, 2015)—A new video from Vintage King Audio offers a look at the company’s restoration of a Neve 8078 for The Parlor Recording Studio in New Orleans.

After purchasing a vintage Neve 8078 recording console, second-generation studio owner Matt Grondin, who recently opened The Parlor, visited Electric Lady Studios in New York City to check out its vintage Neve, which was restored by Vintage King. “We really needed a console in New Orleans like the one at Electric Lady,” Grondin commented.

Vintage King’s technician team, featuring Rich Hunt and Jeff Spatafora, embarked on the arduous task of a complete renovation. The overhaul on Grondin’s Neve included cleaning out wire looms, silk screening EQ panels, recapping power supplies and essentially going over everything that needed to be touched, including the installation of a Flying Faders II automation system.

The video details the intricate restoration process, from rebuilding modules to the completed desk’s installation at The Parlor, and features comments from the technician crew and Grondin.
