Fairlight Unveils HD DREAM Factory

At the 2006 NAB Show, Fairlight introduced the HD DREAM Factory, a platform for recording, editing and mixing to picture in a fully HD compliant environment. It includes a Constellation-XT large-scale, multi-format mixing system that is expandable up to 240 channels into 72 buses, with scalable DSP architecture and integrated disk recorder and editor featuring clip-based automation.

The console supports all mix formats from mono to 7.1. It features a simultaneous multi-format mix creation system with automatic bus-reduction capabilities. Constellation-XT provides progressive surround-sound support and bus to bus mixing for multi-stem work, as well as comprehensive onboard monitoring, an advanced fader management system, tactile automation with six bands of EQ and two-stage dynamics on every channel. Powered by Fairlight’s QDC engine, the HD DREAM factory also includes a comprehensive third party plug-in library with more than 80 licensed plug-ins.

The basic package provides 56 channels into 24 buses, a built-in 48-track disk recorder and editor (expandable to 96 tracks) and an HD tri-level sync separator. Also included are 24 AES/EBU I/Os and 16 analog inputs and outputs, eight of which are relay protected. Input and output configurations are expandable up to a maximum of 192 physical I/Os.

HD DREAM Factory is available at the special price of $99,950 for all orders received and shipped prior June 30, 2006 through Fairlight’s Business Partner network.
